What Does Your DNA Say About You?

Discover your ancestral origins and trace your lineage with a personalized analysis of your DNA.

23andMe is a privately held personal genomics and biotechnology company based in Mountain View, California that provides rapid genetic testing. The company is named for the 23 pairs of chromosomes in a normal human cell. Their personal genome test kit was named Invention of the Year by Time magazine in 2008.

23andMe began offering its direct-to-consumer (DTC) DNA (Desoxyribonucleic Acid) testing service in November 2007. Customers provide a saliva sample that is SNP genotyped. Results are posted online, along with an assessment of inherited traits, genealogy, and possible congenital risk factors.23 and Me DNA Test

This is the largest DNA ancestry service in the world! With over 650,000 genotyped members, you’ll experience more matches, more data, and more discoveries.

Find out what percent of your DNA (Desoxyribonucleic Acid) comes from populations around the world, ranging from East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and more. Break European ancestry down into distinct regions such as the British Isles, Scandinavia, Italy and Ashkenazi Jewish. People with mixed ancestry, African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans will also get a detailed breakdown.

Find relatives across continents or across the street. Ever wonder who’s related to you? You’ll likely discover dozens or even hundreds of people who share DNA and ancestors. The matches you’ll get can range from close family to distant cousins.

Build your family tree and enhance your experience. Preserve your family’s history by highlighting names, dates, events, and more. See if you can gather data from newly found relatives to fill in the missing branches of your tree. If you already use a family tree service, you can easily import your tree.

Share your knowledge. Watch it grow. Make the most of your results by inspiring family members to join 23andMe. The more family members you have in the database, the more comprehensive the picture of your ancestry will be.

Really disappointed in the way you’re handling international sales. No specials and crazy high amounts for shipping. It would cost me well over $100 just for shipping alone. Ancestry does free shipping both ways 😞 I was just about to purchase until I saw that, over $250 for an ethnicity report is not happening.

Interested in testing at 23andMe so I'm hoping one day they recognize there are customers beyond the US who also deserve to benefit from half price or better rates on their tests

I really prefered to see my dna & my kids dna on the same page when entering a snp / chromosome in the raw data, this was in a previous version standard... now I have to switch all the time for each snp I want to look up for myself & my kids, really annoying, backwards !
